Carfest South 2017

A great time at Carfest South yesterday (25/8) for the family barn dance. Thanks to all those who joined us even though it was hot in the Dancefest marquee. Fastest ever setup – 10 minutes. Sailing club social 21/7/17

Report written for club magazine….

On Friday July 21^st a large group of Cowboys and Cowgirls gathered for a night of dancing, great music, good food and good company. We gathered in the Port House, having braved the stormy elements that were clearly determined to drown our steeds, at 7pm.

The band The Woodsiders, were already in position, sitting below the Burgee bunting, on the hay bales, in true ‘barn’ style – plucking hay out of their instruments. And truly fantastic they were – Amanda, no relation, our singer and caller had us all dancing on the floor until our feet wore out. The band were absolutely great – true talents with wonderful playing and singing, getting everyone up and dancing in a lovely, unpressured way. Our thanks to The Woodsiders for making it a very special night.

Feedback from everyone who attended – once they could speak again after all the dancing – was ‘great event – lots of fun, more fun than they had expected with the dancing, a great workout, so gym memberships being cancelled, and a lovely meal – When can we do it again?’ Special mention Valerie and John – RAPs members who joined us and put us all to shame dancing every single dance with great style!
